Wild Turkey rescue by Andrew TWC

On Dec 21, 2012 I was asked by Toronto Wildlife Centre to keep an eye on a wild turkey that was wandering the roads in Scaroborugh. On Dec 23, 2012 I found the turkey in the middle of Kingston Road (6 lanes of traffic). Called Andrew (head rescue staff) who came immediately to help with the rescue of the wild turkey. For a view of the event live check out my youtube video of the event. I can safely say the wild turkey was rescued.

  1. I once saw a program, probably Animal Planet, of a man who raised a family of turkeys from hatching. They imprinted on him and he was truly their parent. It was amazing to listen to him learn to talk turkey and he says they have many different clucks and sounds and they actually communicate with one another. They are very intelligent and social. One turkey in particular use to love to cuddle with the man. Really incredible what I learned about turkeys.
