Barred Owl - Male released in Oshawa August 17, 2013
I went to pick up a Male Barred Owl for release on Saturday. He was a feisty young boy and very healthy. Thanks to The Owl Foundation the owl was given a second chance. He was in rehab for some time as his beak had to regrow. As you can see he is beautiful.
A couple of shots by Lee Ellis on the release of the owl. Thanks for coming with me Lee.
The Barred Owl landed in three different trees and we were able to watch him fly 4 times. What a thrill to see the owl so healthy.

Red Fox released back in the wild. Toronto Wildlife Centre July 8, 2013
Every once in a while you have a day that you will never forget. Allison and her husband called Toronto Wildlife Centre to let them know they had a sick fox at their home. (thank you so much Allison) TWC captured the fox and took it in for treatment of mange. 2 months later was the release of the fox. Allison did the honour of opening the cage and then we waited (maybe 5 minutes) before red decided it was time to go. He took off into the woods. Allison and her husband showed me a great place to release the fox - creek to the right and woods to the left and tons of trails. The fox has a wonderful second chance on being free and healthy. Good people make the world of difference. Thank you TWC and Allison.
